Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, Virginia has long held a special place in the hearts of Lonnie Cullers and his family. Every time he and his daughter Rebecca passed through Upperville, they made it a point to stop, admire the church’s timeless stone architecture, and enjoy a quiet moment in the churchyard with a snack and conversation. Lonnie’s detailed drawing captures the reverence and stillness that Trinity embodies—a place that has stood as a symbol of faith and endurance since 1842. The current building, completed in 1960 as a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon, represents the third structure on the original foundation. It stands not only as a beacon of community and worship but also as a personal waypoint for generations of travelers and admirers like the Cullers. Through Lonnie’s eyes and careful hand, Trinity is more than just a historical site—it’s a living memory, a tradition, and a small sacred stop along the road of life.
