Lonnie Cullers was awarded “Best in Show” at the 2025 Vinson Hall Spring Art Show for his striking still life titled Touch of Italy, selected from over 220 paintings submitted by resident artists. The painting—an elegant composition featuring a bottle of wine, a glass of red, rich fruit, and intricate lacework—was originally created in response to a themed art contest with the prompt “fine dining.” Its visual warmth and sophisticated detail earned it a months-long place of honor in the penthouse dining facility atop the retirement home, where residents and guests could enjoy its refined atmosphere. Now, as a winner, the painting has found a new home in the Vincent Hall employee break room—a fitting tribute that allows staff to enjoy and take pride in the creativity of the community they serve. This award marks a significant milestone in Lonnie’s artistic journey and is a testament to his continual growth and dedication to his craft.
