Lonnie Wins Two First Place Ribbons at the Fall VHRC Art Show
We’re thrilled to share that Lonnie has once again been recognized for his outstanding artistic work. This time he took home two first place ribbons at the Fall Vincent Hall Retirement Community Art Show.
His winning entries highlight two different aspects of his creative range:
- Farm Figures: Lonnie’s award-winning painting in this category features a portrayal of rural life, capturing the quiet family moment by the river. True to his roots, the work echoes the rhythms of his upbringing in the Shenandoah Valley.

- Architecture: In his first-place piece for architectural art, Lonnie turned his focus to structure and form, drawing inspiration from the sunlight streaming through the trees and a southern mansion in the background. The painting showcases his deep appreciation for the lasting beauty of well-worn places, and stands in contrast to his depictions of his own rural upbringing.
